You were never too much, sis.
Decentering Men, Reclaiming Self is a reflection journal for women who are ready to stop shrinking, performing, and over-functioning in the name of being chosen.
This isn’t about finding the right man.
It’s about remembering who you are when you stop revolving around them.
Through real talk, powerful prompts, and no-fluff self-examination, this journal helps you:
Unlearn the belief that your worth depends on desirability
Identify the emotional labor, people-pleasing, and pick-me patterns that have drained you
Reclaim your standards, boundaries, and self-devotion
Explore the freedom, fullness, and peace of choosing yourself—without guilt
Whether you're single, dating, healing, or done altogether, this journal is not about becoming harder to get.
It’s about becoming unavailable to anyone who requires your self-betrayal.
You don’t need to be chosen.
You need to come home to yourself.
This book showed me it is okay and necessary even to have standards regarding how I am treated. It isn't enough that a partner helps with the kids and housework. There is so much more than that. And it's important to expect more for myself if I am ever going to get it.

I knew the journal would be everything promised. The entry pages are thought-provoking and insightful, and I wish I had the prose 20-years ago.
I plan to bring it to my university as booklets for survivors. I hope to be able to order in bulk soon!

Thank you for writing such a transformative work. I have just skimmed the contents so far, and can see I am going to be deeply thinking and working through a lot of conditioning.
This guided journal is the perfect tool for anyone trying to overcome people-pleasing and learning to set boundaries. Each prompt is crafted in a way that encourages the user to think in incremental steps, starting small and building a logical foundation from the ground up, in a familiar bottom-up style I find very intuitive. The layout provides plenty of room to write down my thoughts, and the spiral-bound format makes it easy to work on without needing to sit at a table or desk. I am grateful to have discovered this author's tools to help me on my healing journey as I reconstruct myself and my life. This is the 4th journal I've purchased from this author. (⊙‿⊙✿)

Well thought out and extremely helpful. My husband and I purchased for each other as Christmas gifts and it is definitely one of our better gifts this year. Stay curious white people. We know nothing about decentering our whiteness. (And if you think you have no work to do, you are wrong)

This soft cover spiral bound version is a great addition to any white person who wishes to unpack their biases. My version arrived within 14 calendar days. There's many thought provoking prompts to guide you through your shadow work (that's what I call yet for me). The design gives you enough room to journal your thoughts, is plain and direct in tone while encouraging you to be
Sit with discomfort. Growth requires some growing pains. Ms. Bryant put together a wonderful journal that I intend to suggest to others. Thank you for this crucial resource, friend. (⊙‿⊙✿)

The author has managed to create a respectful, open conversation with me as a reader, while she presents a clear position in beautifully rigorous language.
This journal invites me to imagine a healed, whole future in which non-men exist fully and happily, without regard to men.
I bought "Decentering Whiteness- For White People" at the same time, because I KNOW that patriarchy, misgynoir, misogyny, and queer phobia are just faces of the beast of supremacism.
